About Cheetah Chrome
Cheetah Chrome is the lead guitarist of the Cleveland punk band the Dead Boys, which formed in 1975 and took its name from a line in the Rocket From the Tombs song Down in Flames. He and drummer Johnny Blitz came out of Rocket From the Tombs, and one account says Chrome invited his friend Stiv Bators on stage to sing a few songs at a show in August 1975, which led to the band that became the Dead Boys.
The band moved to New York City in July 1976 and released two studio albums, Young, Loud and Snotty and We Have Come for Your Children. It reunited in September 2017 with a new lineup for a 40th anniversary tour and the album Still Snotty: Young, Loud and Snotty at 40, a re-recording of the debut.
I found no reliable source for his guitars or amplifiers, so this page covers his role in the band; see the Dead Boys page for the band's history.
