About The Raconteurs

The Raconteurs formed in Detroit in 2005 after Jack White and Brendan Benson co-wrote Steady, As She Goes and decided to start a band. They recruited Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, both members of The Greenhornes, and the group is now based in Nashville. The debut Broken Boy Soldiers followed in 2006, then Consolers of the Lonely in 2008, which was nominated for a Grammy as Best Rock Album, and after more than a decade without a record the band returned with Help Us Stranger in 2019, recorded in White's home studio and released on his label Third Man Records.

The band is where White moved most clearly to Gretsch guitars, especially the Rancher and the Duo Jet, including a copper "Triple Jet" built by Randy Parsons from a Duo Jet with a third pickup and an MXR Micro Amp that Gretsch had fitted inside for a boost he could control from the guitar. For Help Us Stranger he mentioned a gold Fort Knox Les Paul and a new Fender Champ. His usual amps are Fender Twin Reverbs and a pair of Sears Silvertone 1485 heads.

Sources differ on which Gretsch models were central, so exact configurations are approximate.
