About Wes Hauch
Wes Hauch is a death-metal guitarist who leads the band Alluvial, and Ibanez has built him a signature seven-string, the ICWH727, announced in September 2026 as the lead model of a new wave of Ibanez signature guitars. It is based on the Iceman shape and is built by Ibanez's Custom Shop in Japan, with an African mahogany body, a flamed maple top, a three-piece maple and purpleheart neck, a rosewood fretboard, a 27-inch scale and a slim Wizard 7 neck profile.
Its pickups are a pair of Seymour Duncan Jupiter Rails humbuckers, Hauch's own pickup design with dual stainless-steel blade poles, and it has a Lo Pro Edge 7 double-locking tremolo and Hipshot tuners. Thomann lists it as a limited edition with 24 jumbo frets, a 48 mm nut and a 430 mm fingerboard radius, in Trans Black, with a case, strap and multi-tool.
The wave also includes updated signature models for Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Nita Strauss. Guitar Radar follows Ibanez signature launches.
