About Strandberg

Strandberg, styled .strandberg*, is a Swedish guitar company based in Uppsala, founded by Ola Strandberg. It started in 2007 as a hobby project called the Ergonomic Guitar System: Strandberg, whose professional career was in software, secretly built a prototype in the basement workshop of the biotech company where he worked, inspired in part by the headless Steinberger guitars of the 1980s.

It was not until he created the EndurNeck profile in 2012 that he founded his namesake company. The EndurNeck is a patented neck shape that uses carefully measured flat planes instead of a typical rounded carve. The flagship line is the Boden, a headless design available in six-, seven- and eight-string versions, with a compact, familiar body outline that sets it apart from the bulkier 1980s headless guitars.

Wikipedia credits the company with popularizing headless guitars in the metal community, and the designs are built from the ground up for that format rather than by removing the headstock from an existing model. Guitar Radar follows new Boden models, signature guitars and hardware.
