About Walrus Audio
Walrus Audio is a pedal company based in Oklahoma City, established in 2011 by a group of friends, and Reverb describes it as a blend of musicians, circuit benders and artists. Colt Westbrook, who is now its president, joined in 2014 when there were only three employees, later became a minority owner, and has been described by some outlets as its founder, so the sources are not consistent about who started it.
Westbrook has said the name came from the previous owner, who liked tusked animals, as he also had a company called Mammoth. Oklahoma artist and musician Nathan Price makes the pedal artwork, which has become part of the brand's identity, and the product line has grown to more than a dozen effects pedals.
The company has been owned by a private equity firm since 2018. Guitar Radar follows new Walrus Audio pedals and limited editions.
