CFG's SonikSphere NEO Moves Its Wireless System to the 5.8GHz Band
The second-generation Cable Free Guitar system claims sub-2.5ms latency and 10-plus hours of battery, at an introductory $139.99.

Cable Free Guitar has released the SonikSphere NEO, the second generation of its compact guitar and bass wireless system. Premier Guitar's news wire carried the announcement on August 29.
The headline change is the radio band. Where most budget wireless units sit in the crowded 2.4GHz space shared with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the NEO works at 5.8GHz, which tends to be far less congested on a busy stage. CFG quotes 24-bit/48kHz audio, latency under 2.5ms, better than 10 hours of battery per charge, and six color-coded channels. There is also a switchable -10dB pad for active pickups, piezo systems and other hot-output instruments, plus a two-year warranty. Each set includes a transmitter, a receiver, a USB-A to dual USB-C charging cable and a manual.
Pricing is where it stands out: $139.99 at launch against a $170 regular price, which puts it well under the established name-brand units in this category.
Why it matters
Reliable wireless has been creeping down in price for years. A 5.8GHz system with low latency and long battery life for under $140 lowers the bar again for players who want to cut the cable without spending several hundred dollars.
