DOD's DRAG Delay Bolts Pitch-Bending Chaos Onto a Bucket-Brigade Circuit
The new $219.99 analog delay keeps BBD warmth but adds hold-to-warp Friction modes, octave pitch bends and four modulation shapes.

DOD's new DRAG is an analog bucket-brigade delay with a wild streak. The core is a warm BBD circuit giving up to 750ms of delay, with Time, Feedback, Level and Filter controls covering familiar ground. Where it gets strange is a set of performance functions DOD calls Friction: hold the footswitch and the repeats slam to a stop, or ramp back up as you let go, mimicking the lurch of stop-start traffic.
A Rubbernecking mode adds octave-up and octave-down pitch bends tied to the delay time, extending the maximum delay to around 1.5 seconds, and there are alternate behaviors like HopStop and Slide-n-Go. Modulation offers four waveforms, sine, reverse saw, square and random, across three intensity ranges. The pedal runs on a standard 9V supply, takes an optional FS3X footswitch for tap tempo, and ships in a compact top-jack aluminum enclosure with a reversible mounting plate.
Street price is $219.99, and DOD says the DRAG is available now through retailers worldwide.
Why it matters
Analog delay pedals rarely try anything this odd. DRAG keeps the BBD warmth players want but layers on pitch and time tricks usually found only in digital units, at a price that undercuts most boutique competition.
