Martin's LX2 Life is Good puts laser-etched slogans on a Little Martin travel guitar

A follow-up to 2024's LX1 Life is Good, the collaboration with the apparel brand keeps the short-scale Little Martin body and swaps in a more restrained cosmetic treatment.

Martin and the apparel company Life is Good have released a second guitar together, the LX2 Life is Good, announced August 27. It sits in the Little Martin line, the brand's smallest and most travel-friendly shape, with a modified 0 body and a short 23-inch scale that makes it an easy grab for couch practice or a campsite.

The solid spruce top carries the collaboration's artwork burned in rather than printed: a sun around the soundhole, the Life is Good wordmark above the bridge and the phrase 'Positive Energy is Powerful Energy' running across the lower bout. The headplate pairs Martin's script logo with a small dragon drawn from a bedtime story told by the founders' mother. Back and sides are a Brazilian rosewood-pattern HPL, the durable laminate Martin uses across the LX range, with a birch neck carved to a Modified Low Oval profile and a Richlite fretboard and bridge.

It ships with a softshell case and Martin's Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 strings. Against the louder graphics of the 2024 LX1 version, Martin frames the LX2 as the more understated of the two.

Why it matters

Little Martins are a common first 'real' acoustic and a default travel guitar, so a new graphic edition is a low-stakes but genuine addition to a range players buy in real volume.
