Dany Villarreal, guitarist and co-frontwoman of the Mexican trio The Warning, now has her name on a PRS. Announced on August 29, the Astryx Limited Edition is built on the Custom 24 platform and restricted to 200 pieces for 2026, each one shipping with an autographed back plate and Villarreal's signature on the truss rod cover.

The spec sheet stays close to the standard Custom 24: maple top, mahogany back, 25-inch scale, Pattern Thin neck, Gen III tremolo and a pair of DMO humbuckers. The changes are personal ones. Villarreal spec'd an ebony fretboard, a graduated finish she calls Ocaso that runs from purple through pink and orange into yellow, and a 12th-fret sun inlay in paua, gold and mother of pearl named Solecito. Street price is around 5,800 dollars.

The Warning have spent the last few years moving from viral covers to arena support slots and festival main stages, and Villarreal has leaned on PRS instruments through most of that climb. A signature model is the logical next step, and the small production number suggests PRS is treating it as a collector piece rather than a catalog staple.

Why it matters

Signature deals still tend to go to established male rock and metal names, so a first signature PRS for a young woman leading a band that broke through on its own terms is a notable marker of who the industry is betting on now.
