Tone King has given the Royce Preamp its first public preview at Guitar Summit in Mannheim. The new amp-in-a-box pedal is positioned as the third member of the company’s preamp line after the Imperial and Royalist, but this time the reference point is the Vox AC30 rather than an American combo or a Marshall-style circuit.
The show-floor unit has two independent channels, switchable treble-boost options, onboard reverb and tremolo. Tone King has not yet published the complete specification, price or final availability details; Andertons reports that the formal launch is expected in November 2026. For now, the Guitar Summit appearance is a genuine first look rather than the finished product announcement.
Why it matters
The Royce extends Tone King’s tube-preamp pedal family into chime-and-treble-boost territory, with a control set that could make it a compact direct or pedalboard rig.
