Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton is a Nashville singer, songwriter and guitarist whose gear mixes Gibson and Fender, and published lists disagree about what he plays most. A concert review had him playing a Fender Jazzmaster for about 70 percent of the show, alongside Gibson 335s and a Les Paul goldtop, while other gear lists mention a 1950s Gibson LG-2 and a Gibson J-45 or D-18 style acoustic for live use.

His clearest equipment link is a Fender amp: the '62 Princeton Chris Stapleton Edition is a hand-wired 12-watt combo using the 6G2 circuit with Fender vintage Blue tone caps, Schumacher transformers, an upgraded Eminence 12-inch speaker and an output-tube-biased tremolo circuit. A 2016 live photo also showed a Fender 80 Proof Blues Junior.

Because gear lists for him are partly fan-compiled or retailer-written, treat specific models as a snapshot. Guitar Radar follows his signature gear and tour news.
