Matt Bellamy

Matt Bellamy is the singer and guitarist of Muse, and a majority shareholder of Manson Guitar Works since 2019. His guitars are custom Mansons with effects built into the body. The first, the DL-1 "Delorean", has a ZVex Fuzz Factory, an MXR Phase 90 and a Graph Tech Ghost acoustic preamp wired inside, along with a kill switch; he has not played it live since 2005 but it remains a favorite. The Manson Bomber has a DigiTech Whammy controller in its rear cavity and a MIDI strip controller.

The Kaoss Pad on some of his guitars is often misunderstood: Premier Guitar and Guitar World both note that the guitar carries only the controller, which sends MIDI to a Korg Kaoss Pad in the rack. The ZVex Fuzz Factory is the most consistent effect across his guitars and rack, and a DigiTech Whammy has appeared across his pedalboards, used for octave shifts.

On amps, equipment lists show a Marshall 1959HW Plexi head and Vox AC30 for cleans, with a Diezel VH4 blended in for high gain. Pedal choices have changed between albums, from a Line 6 DL4 and Electro-Harmonix Micro Synth early on to a Keeley compressor, an MXR Dyna Comp Mini and a JHS Colour Box on later tours.
