About Orianthi

Orianthi is an Australian guitarist who traded acoustic for electric guitar in 1997 after seeing Carlos Santana in concert, and who was chosen as the lead guitarist for Michael Jackson's This Is It tour. Her main instrument is a PRS, and the guitar associated with that tour is a 2008 PRS Custom 24 covered in Swarovski crystals by Jackson's fashion team, used in the final two full rehearsals; in the film it was prominent on the Beat It solo.

The PRS SE Orianthi Signature is based on the Custom 24, with a maple top, a 24-fret wide-thin maple neck, an ebony fingerboard, a korina back and a signature "O" inlay at the 12th fret. The finish changed from Red Sparkle to Scarlet Red, and retailers have noted that the model has been discontinued and replaced by a new version.

She has also partnered with Gibson on a signature SJ-200 acoustic, which pairs an ES-345 neck with an L.R. Baggs Orianthi System pickup. Guitar Radar follows her signature guitars and tours.
