About Polaris
Polaris is an Australian metalcore band from Sydney; its album The Mortal Coil came out on 3 November 2017, to critical acclaim and an ARIA Award nomination for Best Hard Rock. The lineup is Jamie Hails on vocals, Rick Schneider on guitar, Jake Steinhauser on bass and vocals and Daniel Furnari on drums, with Jesse Crofts as a touring guitarist. Guitarist Ryan Siew died in 2023.
On gear, Schneider told Mixdown that the band flies all of its Neural DSP Quad Cortex units, each of them carrying three guitars, and that they had moved to an Allen and Heath dLive console from a Behringer X32. Siew said a big part of the band's tone came from a Bare Knuckle Juggernaut pickup set in his guitar. A user-compiled database lists a Mayones Regius 7 and a Fractal Axe-Fx II, but these are not confirmed.
Guitar Radar follows the band's touring setup and releases.
