Polaris return with 'Without You', their first new music in three years

Polaris have released 'Without You', their first new music in three years. Nuclear Blast’s official label news page dates the release to September 3 and describes the song as the band’s attempt to process the grief that followed the death of guitarist Ryan Siew in 2023.

The track moves between heavy riffing, melodic choruses, a featured guitar solo and a breakdown-driven ending. Polaris also released a video that places the remaining members performing in an empty cathedral while weaving in imagery from the band’s past.

The release is significant beyond being a comeback single: it is the first clear musical statement of how Polaris intend to move forward creatively after a loss that became inseparable from the release and reception of 2023’s Fatalism.
