About Trey Anastasio
Trey Anastasio is the guitarist and singer of Phish, and his main instruments are custom guitars built by Paul Languedoc, a luthier and former Phish soundman. His current main guitar, built in 2020 and unveiled in 2021 as the "4.0" guitar, has Seymour Duncan humbuckers with coil taps for single-coil tones, and combines a 25.5-inch Fender-like scale with dual humbuckers. The bodies are fully hollow, which his tech says is very different from a semi-hollow ES-335 or a PRS hollowbody. Languedoc has made him ten guitars so far, and more recently Anastasio replaced the pickups in all of them with ReWind Electric pickups.
His main amp is a Trainwreck Express built by Ken Fischer and nicknamed "Jan Marie", with custom Languedoc 2x12 cabinets. Since Phish's Sphere run the amps, speakers and Leslie have been kept off stage in isolation cabinets.
His pedalboard has included a pair of vintage Tube Screamers, a genuine Klon Centaur, a Ross compressor, a vintage Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe, an Eventide Space, a pair of Line 6 M5 modelers and a pair of Boss SY-1 synth pedals. Some other pieces come from fan listings rather than an official list.
