About Hotone
Hotone Audio is a Chinese maker of guitar effects, amplifiers and multi-effects processors. A guide that checked the company's own website reports that it is Changsha Hotone Technology Co., Ltd., based in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, and that the site gives its founding as November 5, 2012; Equipboard also says 2012. I found no source for the founders, or for the Guangzhou or Shenzhen origin sometimes claimed, and a 2018 trademark filing for AMPERO lists Changsha Hotone Audio Co., Ltd. as owner.
It built its early reputation on the Skyline series of nano-sized stompboxes. The Ampero line of floor units includes the Ampero and the Ampero II Stomp, a modeler that uses a tri-core DSP platform, offers 87 amps, 68 cabs and over 100 pedal models, and has an IR loader with Celestion impulse responses. Hotone also makes the Soul Press expression, volume and wah pedals and the Binary series of digital effects.
