Hotone Squeezes AI Tone Creation Into the Pocket-Sized Pulze Jr.
The $299.99 battery-powered modeling amp can build a tone from a typed description and pull guitar parts out of a song to build practice tracks.

Hotone has released the Pulze Jr., a pocket-sized modeling amp built around the company's CDCM HD and F.I.R.E. modeling engine, with 52 amp models and 48 cabinet simulations on board. Two 3-inch speakers put out 20 watts total, and the unit runs 24-bit/48kHz processing with support for up to 10 imported NAM neural amp modeling profiles, plus five Celestion speaker impulse responses and room for 20 more of the user's own.
What sets it apart from a typical pocket modeler is the AI layer: an AI Tone Creation feature builds a tone from a typed or spoken description, and an AI Track Separation tool pulls the guitar part out of an imported song to build a practice backing track. A companion app handles the signal chain, and the unit includes a 240-second looper and MIDI support.
At $299.99, it lands well under Positive Grid's and JBL's comparable practice-amp options while adding features neither currently offers � a genuine attempt to make a small battery-powered amp do more than just get quieter.
Why it matters
It's one of the first pocket practice amps to put generative-AI tone creation directly on the hardware rather than in a companion app alone.
