Blackstar's Beam amps get free Moises stem separation for practice and jamming
A no-cost app update lets Beam Solo and Beam Mini players mute or isolate guitar, drums or vocals in any song in real time.

Blackstar has added Moises' real-time stem separation to its Beam Solo and Beam Mini practice amps through a free app update. Inside the Beam app, players can pull a track apart on the fly, muting or soloing the guitar part, dropping vocals to a quarter of their volume, or rebalancing individual instruments with sliders. It works with streamed or stored music, subject to the usual streaming-service requirements.
The point is practice: learning a solo by removing the original guitar, playing along with a stripped-back mix, or performing a song with the vocal pulled down.
Blackstar announced the tie-in on September 2. The iOS update has been live since August 28, with the Android version due on September 30. There is no charge for existing Beam owners.
Why it matters
Stem separation has become a core practice tool, and baking it into a budget amp's own app, for free, lowers the barrier for beginners who would otherwise need a separate subscription app.
