EMG Releases Tom Morello 'TM Set' Based on His Arm the Homeless Wiring
The set pairs an EMG 85 in the bridge with an EMG H in the neck, the combination in Morello's main guitar since the late 1980s, sold together for the first time.

EMG has bundled the pickup pairing from Tom Morello's "Arm the Homeless" guitar into a single signature set, picked up by the guitar press in the last week of August. It's an EMG 85 at the bridge and an EMG H at the neck, the same combination Morello has run in that guitar since the late '80s, through Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and his solo records.
The 85 is a familiar active humbucker with an alnico magnet, aggressive but still usable for cleans. The H is the less common part: it's EMG's single-coil S design built into a humbucker-sized cap, so it drops into guitars routed only for humbuckers while still giving a brighter, more wiry neck tone. The set is stamped with the older-style EMG logo to match the vintage units in Morello's guitar.
EMG lists the set as available now. Pricing was not given in the early coverage.

Why it matters
Morello's rhythm-and-lead tone is one of the most recognizable in modern rock, and this is the first time his exact factory pickup combination has been offered as a matched set for anyone modding an S-style guitar.
