Ernie Ball Music Man has expanded its Albert Lee signature family in two directions. The new Albert Lee HSS combines the model’s distinctive body shape with a humbucker-and-two-single-coil layout and arrives in Honey Burst, Firemist Silver and Cosmos finishes at $3,299.

The parallel Ball Family Reserve Albert Lee HH in Malibu Burst is limited to 75 instruments worldwide. It uses a figured maple top over an okoume body, a roasted figured maple neck and fretboard, white pearl Atlante block inlays and a pair of custom-wound DiMarzio humbuckers also used in the Axis. A five-way selector, vintage Music Man tremolo, locking Schaller tuners and a signed tremolo plate complete the specification.

The BFR model is priced at $3,799 and includes a numbered certificate of authenticity. Together, the releases give Albert Lee’s long-running signature shape both a broadly flexible HSS option and a tightly limited collector-grade counterpart.

Why it matters

The launch adds the first HSS configuration to one of Music Man’s longest-running signature designs while using a 75-piece BFR run to push the same platform into limited-edition territory.
