About Albert Lee
Albert Lee is a British country-rock guitarist known as Mr. Telecaster, who has played a Telecaster since 1963 and whose signature guitar is made by Ernie Ball Music Man. Lee moved to Music Man after Sterling Ball and Ernie Ball began designing the guitars, and a prototype Sterling gave him in the early 1970s became the basis for his signature model. The standard model has three Seymour Duncan single coils and a hardtail bridge, with variants using Duncan P90s or DiMarzio humbuckers, and the ash version is designed to weigh around six pounds.
Many of his Telecasters and Music Man guitars carry B-Benders, string-bending mechanisms that let him approximate a pedal steel on slower passages; he has said he has two or three Teles and three signature Music Mans with benders, modified at the factory. Wikipedia also lists a 1950s Telecaster, a 1958 Stratocaster and a Martin 000-28 acoustic, and one source says he owns around 40 guitars including Don Everly's Gibson J-200.
On amps he has used Fender Tonemaster and Twin models and Music Man amps for crisp clean tones, with a TC Electronic Hall of Fame reverb in his effects and a Korg A3, which he calls his favorite effects unit.
