IK Multimedia launches TONEX Board with four simultaneous Tone Models and a 5-inch touchscreen

IK Multimedia launched TONEX Board on September 3 as the most advanced hardware platform in its TONEX ecosystem. The floor unit can run up to four AI-captured Tone Models at once across two independent signal paths, combine them with 76 AmpliTube and TONEX effects, and place up to 12 processing slots into series, parallel, stereo or wet/dry configurations.

The hardware centers on a 5-inch high-resolution color touchscreen, six push-rotary controls and four footswitches with Preset, Scene and Stomp modes. IK also specifies two independent stereo output pairs, a movable stereo effects loop that can operate as two mono loops, MIDI, expression control and four-cable-method support. The board ships with 2,000 Premium Tone Models and more than 230 factory presets, while USB audio-interface functionality is scheduled for a free firmware update on October 1.

At launch, IK lists TONEX Board at $/€999.99 before tax through its store and authorized dealers. That puts it well above TONEX Pedal and TONEX ONE, but the architecture is aimed at replacing a larger modeler-and-pedalboard setup rather than simply loading one captured amp at a time.
