Krill have announced Secret Language, their first newly recorded album under the Krill name in a decade, for release on November 13 through Exploding In Sound Records. The reunited group now centers singer-bassist Jonah Furman, longtime drummer Ian Becker and guitarist Andrew Clinkman, with Seth Engel producing and engineering. The label announced the record on September 22 alongside the new single and video ‘Dominate.’

The album grows out of the band’s return to Chicago after its 2015 breakup. Furman and Becker reconnected there, brought Clinkman into the lineup, and expanded the sessions with guests including violinist Macie Stewart, backing vocalist Maria Jacobson and saxophonist Will Greene. The nine-track record follows July’s comeback single ‘Commemorative Plaque’; the band also now treats the 2020 Knot album made by several Krill members as part of its own discography.

For guitar listeners, Clinkman’s arrival is part of a real lineup reset rather than a nostalgia-only reunion. Secret Language reconnects Krill’s angular indie-rock writing with a different guitarist and a broader Chicago ensemble, while ‘Dominate’ gives the first substantial preview of how that version of the band sounds.
