Rodrigo y Gabriela release OurHome on September 18, their first studio album since 2023's In Between Thoughts…A New World. Recorded at NK Sound Tokyo and self-produced by Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, the 11-track set turns back toward acoustic instrumentation after the more electric character of its predecessor.

Japan is central to both the sound and the idea of the record. The duo describe the sessions as a creative reset, and the guest list stretches their acoustic language in several directions: former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman appears alongside Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Hiyori Okuda and guitarist Yukihiro Atsumi.

The record was mixed by Dave Sardy and mastered by Stephen Marcussen. Its release also sets up an extensive North American tour beginning September 30, followed by European dates in 2027.

Why it matters

Rodrigo y Gabriela remain one of the rare guitar-led acts with a global audience outside conventional rock-guitar circles. Their return to acoustic instrumentation, paired with guests from metal and Japanese jazz, makes this a particularly guitar-centered release.
