Jacksonville punk and post-hardcore band TIDES released its debut full-length How To Survive A Fall on September 15. The 11-song album follows the band's earlier split release with Golf War and features guitarists Beau Crum and Alex Van Auken alongside vocalist Sean Slater, bassist Chris Jones and drummer Dan Wagler.

The record was tracked after the band entered the studio in winter 2025 with 13 songs and narrowed the final sequence to 11. Paul Lapinski recorded and mixed the album, with mastering completed at the Blasting Room. A.D.D. Records handles the U.S. release and Little Rocket Records the European edition.

TIDES sits in the melodic punk/post-hardcore lane rather than the virtuoso-guitar world, but the two-guitar lineup and the band's connection to the long-running Northeast Florida scene make the debut a worthwhile smaller release alongside the day's larger gear and artist news.

Why it matters

Daily guitar coverage is healthier when it reaches beyond established stars. TIDES' debut is a current, guitar-driven independent release with a real regional scene behind it and a two-guitar band format at its core.
