Tony Iommi released “Stormwatcher” on September 30 as the second single from his forthcoming solo album From the Dark. The track is built around an unmistakably weighty Iommi riff, with Jørn Lande singing a maritime narrative about steering through struggle and uncertainty.
Iommi and Mike Exeter co-produced the recording, with Becky Baldwin on bass and Karl Brazil on drums. The single arrived with an animated official video, while the eight-track album is due October 23 through BMG in digital, CD and multiple double-vinyl editions.

Why it matters
A new Iommi riff is a significant event for heavy guitar, and this release gives a clearer picture of the personnel and atmosphere shaping his first full solo-album campaign in years.
