Acoustic Guitar Village is underway at Cremona Musica from October 2 through 4, spreading events between the exhibition center and the city's historic center. The program brings together acoustic-guitar builders, players and buyers with live performances, conferences, rare-instrument exhibitions and a dedicated luthiers' area.
This year's schedule ranges across fingerstyle, blues, bluegrass, Gypsy jazz, classical guitar and plucked-string ensembles. It also includes repair-and-restoration masterclasses, the New Sounds of Acoustic Music competition and appearances by international guests; Bob Taylor is due to receive the Cremona Musica Award. With the final day on October 4, the event is too time-sensitive to defer.
Why it matters
It is one of Europe's broadest current meeting points for acoustic-guitar craft and performance, connecting working luthiers with players and education rather than functioning only as a concert festival.
