Guitarist-producer Adam Dutkiewicz and vocalist Howard Jones have formally launched Burn Eternal, signing the new project to Metal Blade Records. The October 21 announcement gives a name and label home to a collaboration the former Killswitch Engage bandmates had discussed publicly for several years. Metal Blade says the first official music will arrive soon, although it has not yet supplied a song title or release date.

Jones says the project grew from an idea discussed over lunch in London and developed into a completed debut album. Dutkiewicz described the sessions as a chance to make music with an old friend again, while Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel confirmed that he has heard the record and welcomed the duo to the roster. The announcement stops short of a track list, format or launch schedule.

The partnership reconnects two musicians central to Killswitch Engage’s 2002–2012 period. Jones sang on *The End of Heartache* and *As Daylight Dies*, while Dutkiewicz co-founded the band and has remained one of its guitarists and principal producers. Their post-Killswitch work has included Jones fronting Light the Torch and Dutkiewicz continuing as a player, writer and producer.

This is more than a one-off guest spot: Burn Eternal has a completed album, a label deal and its own official identity. The next substantive update will be the first single, but the signing already marks the public start of a band built around a proven guitarist-vocalist partnership rather than a temporary reunion.

Why it matters

Dutkiewicz and Jones helped define a major era of modern metalcore, and Burn Eternal turns their reunion into a full album project with label backing.
