The Asia International Guitar Festival and Competition is running in Bangkok from October 2 through 4 at Yamaha Ratchadapisek Music School. The 2026 gathering is both the festival's 26th edition and its 25th-anniversary year, combining concerts with open and junior competitions, masterclasses and a guitar-makers' exhibition.
The international artist roster includes Paul Galbraith, Philippe Villa, Xuanxuan Sun and Leon Koudelak alongside Thai performers, ensembles and regional luthiers. A new competition category for players under 12 broadens the education side of the event. Because the program closes October 4, this current-occurrence story cannot be paced into a later daily run.
Why it matters
The event is a long-running Asian hub for classical-guitar performance, competition and instrument making, with a program that links international artists to younger players and regional builders.
