Guitar Meeting Festival has opened its 2026 edition in Sibiu, Romania, running September 3–6. The program expands the gathering to four days of concerts, workshops and community activities, with the centerpiece scheduled for September 5: the large-scale Concertul MANIFEST, built around a shared repertoire performed by a massed group of guitarists.
Local organizers and city event listings describe roughly 1,200 guitarists and instructors coming from more than 60 localities for this year's edition. The format mixes festival performances with a strong participatory and educational component, making it less a conventional concert series than a national guitar-community meeting point.
Why it matters
A coordinated gathering of around 1,200 players is a rare scale for a guitar-community event, and it gives Guitar Radar a worthwhile Central/Eastern European story outside the usual English-language festival circuit.
