Tommy Thayer has given a fresh confirmation that KISS have recorded new material. In a Guitar World report published September 5, the guitarist says the band completed a new song written by Paul Stanley, while stopping short of revealing a title, release date or whether the track belongs to a larger project.
Gene Simmons had already indicated earlier in the year that KISS were back in the studio, so the significance here is Thayer independently confirming that the work is real and finished enough to discuss. With the band no longer operating as a conventional touring act, any new studio release would mark a notable next step in the post-farewell version of KISS.

Why it matters
A new KISS studio recording is notable precisely because the band ended its farewell tour in 2023 and has not released a studio album of new material since 2012.
