BluGuitar's AMPX is finally moving into launch territory. Fresh reporting on September 5 says the floorboard amplifier will formally launch around Guitar Summit 2026, with an initial batch of 50 units followed by a larger run and a waitlist-based rollout. BluGuitar's own AMPX material describes the core idea as an analog guitar-amp signal path paired with digitally controlled effects, routing and recall. The important part is not that AMPX exists — BluGuitar has shown it publicly for years — but that the project is crossing from a long-running development story into a real production and delivery phase. For players following the gap between analog amplification and programmable modeler-style workflows, that transition is more significant than another prototype demo.

Why it matters

AMPX has been one of the guitar industry's unusually long hardware-development stories. A production launch would put a genuinely different analog-first programmable platform into direct competition with digital floorboard modelers.
