D’Addario’s Artist+ Carbon Capo moves the company’s trigger-style Artist design into a carbon-fiber frame. The new model is listed at $29.99 in the US, while a refreshed black version of the regular Artist Capo is priced at $25.99.
The Artist+ keeps a micrometer tension control, direct horizontal pressure and the company’s FlexFit pad. That pad is designed to adapt to different fretboard radii and string gauges so each string receives more even pressure. D’Addario also retains one-handed operation and a built-in pick holder, and specifies the capo for six-string acoustic and electric guitars.
Carbon fiber is the main distinction. D’Addario describes it as combining high strength with very low weight, reducing the mass added to the neck without abandoning the adjustable mechanism of the existing Artist design. Premier Guitar reports that the Artist+ is assembled in the United States and that both revised capos are already being offered at street price.
For players, the useful idea is not simply a lighter clamp. Adjustable spring tension and radius-aware padding address the familiar trade-off between clean fretting and pulling strings sharp, while the lighter frame makes the accessory less obtrusive during frequent position changes.

Why it matters
It brings material and pressure-control changes to a common stage accessory at a modest price, with the aim of reducing retuning after capo changes.
