Marshall adds a 20-watt JMH Studio half-stack to its Hendrix 60th Anniversary line
The hand-built Studio Vintage variant lands at $2,499.99 alongside Major V headphones and an Emberton III speaker, marking 60 years since Hendrix first plugged into a Marshall.

Marshall widened its Jimi Hendrix 60th Anniversary Collection on August 25, and the piece that matters to players is a new JMH Studio amp. It reworks the existing Studio Vintage platform: a 20-watt valve head running a pair of EL34s, switchable down to 5 watts, with two bridgeable channels and the familiar Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, High Treble and Normal controls, plus a series effects loop, a DI output and 16, 8 and 4 ohm speaker outs. It ships with a matching 2x12 cabinet loaded with Celestion V12s.
The cosmetic work is where the anniversary shows. The head and cab wear black Tolex under a purple oil-on-water swirl, with silver piping, a purple power LED and an all-seeing-eye badge. The collection marks 60 years since Hendrix first ran a guitar through a Marshall Super 100, back in 1966.
Pricing is set at $2,499.99 in the US and £1,749.99 in the UK, with sales starting September 9 through Marshall and selected retailers. That undercuts the hand-wired 1969 JMH Super Lead head Marshall released earlier in the anniversary run, which carried a roughly $3,400 tag. Marshall also revealed a Hendrix Major V headphone and an Emberton III portable speaker on the same day, and published a reveal film with blues guitarist Ally Venable.

Why it matters
Marshall's 60th-anniversary Hendrix push has mostly meant expensive collector pieces; a 20-watt studio-sized half-stack at $2,499.99 puts the look and a usable EL34 voice within reach of gigging players.
