Mayones and Dirty Loops bassist Henrik Linder have expanded the compact Cali platform with the Cali HL 5 and Cali HL 6 signature mini basses. The idea pushes the travel-sized instrument beyond novelty territory, giving Linder five- and six-string layouts that sit between the physical feel of a bass and a guitar.
Both versions use ash tops, two humbuckers, series/parallel switching and custom bridge string spacing. Mayones offers the instruments in Gothic Black Matt and Ultra Pink, and an official demo shows Linder using the six-string model for chord voicings and upper-register lines that would be awkward on a conventional full-scale bass.

Why it matters
Extended-range mini basses are a rare category, and Linder’s harmonic playing makes the format musically credible rather than merely compact.
