Positive Grid has added Neural Amp Modeler support to BIAS X through the free version 1.3 update. A new Neural Loader module accepts standard .nam files, including A1 and A2 captures, and places them in the plugin’s amp slot. Players can browse other captures in the same folder, set input gain and output level, and shape the result with bass, middle and treble controls plus selectable pre- or post-capture tone-stack placement.
The loader can identify captures that already include a cabinet and microphone, switching off the separate cabinet block to prevent accidental double processing. Once loaded, a capture can be combined with BIAS X drives, modulation, delay and reverb, or used in one side of a dual path alongside another Neural Loader or one of the plugin’s 33 built-in amps. Positive Grid says the capture and surrounding rig can then be saved as a normal BIAS X preset for standalone or DAW recall.
NAM is an open-source capture format, so this update connects BIAS X to a tone library that exists outside Positive Grid’s own ecosystem. The importer does not ship with captures and is not yet available to the plugin’s Text-to-Tone or Music-to-Tone tools, keeping user-loaded NAM files separate from its AI tone generation. For existing owners the update costs nothing, making the interoperability gain more important than a paid feature bundle.

Why it matters
Native NAM import lets BIAS X users combine open capture libraries with the plugin’s effects, routing and presets instead of running a separate loader beside it.
