Seymour Duncan has added the Janick Gers Signature Strat Set to its Iron Maiden range. The configuration puts a JB Jr. for Strat in both the neck and bridge positions, with a Hot Rails for Strat in the middle. It is a three-pickup route to the compact-humbucker sound associated with Gers’ stage Strats rather than a cosmetic artist tie-in.

The loose pickup set is listed at $319 in Seymour Duncan’s US store. A ready-wired loaded pickguard version costs $419, giving players the same layout as a more direct installation option. Both are marked available, with colour choices handled as variants on the product pages.

The launch also refreshes the wider Iron Maiden collection. Seymour Duncan now ships the Gers, Dave Murray and Steve Harris products in individually illustrated boxes built around different official Eddie artwork. The company positions the packaging as collectible, but the Gers set is the substantive addition: it is the first time his neck–middle–bridge combination has been offered as a named set and loaded pickguard.

For Strat-style guitars, the practical appeal is straightforward. Three single-coil-sized humbuckers provide a high-output route without a full-size humbucker conversion, while the loaded version reduces the wiring work. The result is a specific Maiden-era signal chain that remains reversible on a conventional pickguard-mounted instrument.

Why it matters

Artist pickup sets can be more useful than another signature guitar when they let players adapt an instrument they already own. This one packages a distinctive three-position layout in both component and drop-in forms.
