Squier gives Troy Van Leeuwen a Paranormal 12-string Telecaster signature model

Squier has launched the Paranormal Troy Van Leeuwen Telecaster XII, a 12-string signature model based on the unusual Custom Shop Telecaster XII Van Leeuwen has used with Queens of the Stone Age and Iggy Pop. The production model keeps the Tele outline but uses a 12-string top-load/string-through bridge and a custom Copper finish.
Fender lists the guitar at $599.99, putting a specialized electric 12-string into a price range far below the Custom Shop instrument that inspired it. Van Leeuwen's use of layered, textural guitar parts makes the model more than a cosmetic signature release: the doubled strings are central to the sound it is designed to create.
Why it matters
Electric 12-strings remain a niche category, and this is Squier's first Paranormal Series signature guitar. It turns a distinctive touring instrument into a comparatively accessible production model.
