Taylor Guitars has introduced a five-model wave of 12-fret Grand Concert acoustics, pairing the compact body shape with the shorter-feeling 12-fret geometry. The announced group includes the PS12ce 12-Fret, K22ce 12-Fret Special Edition, Next Generation 712ce 12-Fret, Next Generation 512ce 12-Fret and the 12-string Next Generation 552ce 12-Fret.
Taylor's new 500 and 700 Series models add the company's Action Control Neck and Claria electronics, while the 512ce and 552ce pair mahogany back and sides with Western red cedar tops. The 712ce uses Indian rosewood with cedar. Across the range, the 24-7/8-inch-scale Grand Concert format is aimed at a lower-tension, more compact playing feel, with the 552ce extending the concept to twelve strings.
Why it matters
This is a coordinated refresh of one of Taylor's most player-friendly acoustic formats rather than a single cosmetic edition. The mix of premium woods, new neck/electronics architecture and a compact 12-string broadens the practical appeal of the 12-fret Grand Concert.
