TONE3000 releases a free, open-source plugin with access to more than 700,000 NAM captures
The largest Neural Amp Modeler library is now a plugin and standalone app that pulls community captures and IRs directly, with no downloading or file management.

TONE3000, the online library that has become the main clearing house for Neural Amp Modeler captures, has bundled its whole catalogue into a free plugin. The TONE3000 Plugin runs as VST3, AU, AAX, CLAP or LV2 inside a DAW, or as a standalone app on macOS, Windows and Linux. It pulls captures and impulse responses straight from the library instead of making users download, unzip and sort files by hand, and new tones uploaded by the community appear in the plugin immediately.
Under the hood it runs NAM A2, the latest version of the open-source Neural Amp Modeler technology, which models real amps and pedals from recordings and was developed with NAM creator Steve Atkinson. The plugin is more than a browser: it stacks unlimited captures and IRs into signal chains, runs dual chains with branching and panning, builds stereo images and applies EQ at different points in the chain. The company is releasing the whole thing as open source.
It is available now and works with major DAWs including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Cubase and Reaper.
Why it matters
Commercial modelers sell a fixed set of sounds; this gives players a constantly growing, community-built tone library for nothing, which shifts the economics of getting usable digital tone.
