Rob Harris will lead a guitar workshop at Komünite in Istanbul on November 8. The session starts at 18:00 and is open to guitarists at every level, with the venue presenting it as a close look at Harris’ approach to playing, performance and studio work rather than a technique class for one narrow ability group.
Harris is best known for his long-running role with Jamiroquai, where precise rhythm parts, funk articulation and tightly arranged live guitar have been central to the band’s sound. The workshop programme promises discussion of his guitar journey and recording experience, practical material for players, and a live performance component.
Tickets are sold through Paribu Pass. The official listing shows a ₺1,350 discounted tier and a ₺1,500 standard ticket, with admission limited to ages 18 and over. Komünite’s current-edition artwork identifies the same November 8 date and venue, giving players a clear event-specific reference rather than a generic artist image.
For Istanbul guitarists, the useful angle is access to a working player whose craft sits as much in pocket, arrangement and consistency as in spotlight solos. A combined talk, workshop and performance can show how those decisions connect in practice, especially for musicians interested in band-focused rhythm guitar and professional session habits.
Why it matters
Workshops from touring players can expose the less visible skills behind durable careers: time, arrangement, repeatability and studio judgment. Harris’ Jamiroquai work makes this a particularly relevant session for rhythm-focused players.
