The Jerry Garcia Estate has announced GarciaLive Volume 23: August 14th, 1993 Shoreline Amphitheatre for October 30. The release documents Jerry Garcia Band's fourth and final concert at Shoreline and presents the complete two-set performance from a two-track digital soundboard recording mastered by Fred Kevorkian.
The lineup features Garcia with John Kahn, Melvin Seals, David Kemper, Gloria Jones and Jacklyn LaBranch. The set moves through material including 'Forever Young', 'Lay Down Sally', 'Shining Star', 'The Maker' and an extended 'Don't Let Go', with 'Run For The Roses' the lone Garcia original in a show otherwise built around the band's interpretive repertoire.
Why it matters
The GarciaLive series is opening another well-recorded window into Garcia's post-Grateful Dead-side-band catalog, this time preserving JGB's last Shoreline appearance in full.
