Golden Robot Records has announced One Way, a posthumous EP by John Sykes due for release on November 6. The collection is described as featuring some of the guitarist’s final recordings and includes the previously issued songs ‘My Guitar’ and ‘Believe in Yourself.’

Sykes’ career ran through Tygers of Pan Tang, Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake, where his guitar work and songwriting became part of the sound of the band’s 1987 breakthrough. He died in December 2024 at 65.

Because One Way draws on his last studio work rather than archival live material, the EP will be a significant final chapter for listeners who followed his hard-rock guitar style and influence.

Why it matters

Sykes was a major hard-rock guitarist, and a release built from his final recordings carries more weight than a routine catalog reissue.
