Polyphia have announced their next album, Be Not Afraid, due October 23 on Rise Records, and released its first single, Power in the Blood. It is the instrumental band's first full-length since 2022's Remember That You Will Die, written across sessions in Miami, Los Angeles and Dallas through 2024 and 2025.

The single arrived with a video shot in Rio de Janeiro inside the gold-leaf Baroque interior of the Sao Francisco da Penitencia church, directed by Caleb Young. Guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage framed the record as a deliberately deeper rather than broader effort, with Henson saying some passages legitimately scare him when he listens back.

The band has moved the North American leg of its 2026 world tour into early 2027 to keep working on the album. European and UK dates remain on the calendar for November and December.

Why it matters

Polyphia are the rare instrumental guitar act with a mainstream audience, and Tim Henson has become one of the most-watched players of his generation. A new album plus a delayed tour is significant news for a large slice of the guitar world.
