Adrian Belew, Steve Vai and Tony Levin's BEAT Adds Terry Bozzio for Fall 2026 Tour
The King Crimson-repertoire supergroup announced a 40-date North American run with Terry Bozzio filling in for Danny Carey, who is out on tour with Tool.

Adrian Belew, Steve Vai and Tony Levin are taking their King Crimson-repertoire supergroup BEAT back on the road this fall, with drummer Terry Bozzio replacing founding member Danny Carey for the whole run. The 40-date North American tour was announced August 7 and opens October 9 in Santa Cruz, California, working through Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia and Atlanta before closing in Riverside, California on December 3.
Carey, also the drummer in Tool, is unavailable because of his other band's commitments � Vai described him as an essential part of our family who simply could not make this cycle work. Bozzio, known for his work with Frank Zappa and Missing Persons among many others, steps into a band built around Belew, Vai and Levin's original 1980s-era King Crimson lineup (Discipline, Beat, Three of a Perfect Pair), the same catalog BEAT toured on its 2024 debut run.
This time the band is adding material from King Crimson's 1990s output alongside the '80s-era set, giving Bozzio's arrival more than a lineup footnote � the setlist itself is expanding to match.
Why it matters
It's a rare case of one of prog-rock's most respected rhythm sections regrouping with a different legendary drummer rather than simply cancelling a tour.
