Mexican rock guitarist Felipe Souza dies at 61
The former El Tri and El Haragán y Compañía guitarist was remembered by both bands for his playing, friendship and role in Mexican rock.

Mexican guitarist and producer Felipe Souza died on September 4 at age 61. Souza was known for his work with El Tri and El Haragán y Compañía, two long-running names in Mexican rock, and both groups publicly marked his death. No cause of death had been disclosed in the verified coverage at the time of this run.
El Tri recalled Souza's years of concerts, travel and studio work with the band, specifically pointing to his contributions to songs including Pobre soñador and Mis rolas. El Haragán y Compañía likewise described him as an important part of the group's history and emphasized the stages, songs and road experiences they shared.
Souza's career also included work beyond those two groups, but his place in their histories makes his death a notable loss for a part of the Mexican guitar scene that receives relatively little attention in English-language guitar media.
