Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist and bassist Sass Jordan died on October 2 at age 63, surrounded by her family. Her family announced the news through her official social accounts and did not disclose a cause of death.

Jordan emerged from Montreal's club scene, won a Juno after her 1988 debut Tell Somebody and reached a career high with 1992's Racine. She toured with acts including Aerosmith, AC/DC and Van Halen, and her band gave a young Taylor Hawkins an important early touring and recording opportunity before he joined Foo Fighters.
