Silesian Guitar Autumn announced the participants advancing to the second round of the 20th International Jan Edmund Jurkowski Guitar Competition on September 18. The competition forms part of the festival's 40th-anniversary edition, scheduled for October 17–24 in Tychy, Poland.

The wider festival programme spans classical guitar, jazz and flamenco, with concerts, masterclasses, lectures and exhibitions. The competition itself carries a €15,000 prize pool, making the newly narrowed field a meaningful checkpoint in one of Central Europe's long-running classical-guitar events rather than a generic festival reminder.

Why it matters

Competition progress is useful player news in its own right, and this update brings a Central European classical-guitar institution into the daily radar before the October festival begins.
