Vulfpeck have released a new instrumental, 'The Beachcomber', and identified it as the first preview of a previously unannounced album titled Decay Of The Aura. Cory Wong carries the main melody on guitar, while Joe Dart handles bass and Louis Cato plays drums.
The band has not yet published a release date or tracklist for the album, so the single is the concrete news for now. It is also Vulfpeck's first new music since Theo Katzman said he would step away from touring with the group in 2026, making Cato's presence part of a changing band configuration around a very guitar-forward track.
Why it matters
A new Vulfpeck album is now in view, and its first preview puts Cory Wong's clean, melodic guitar work at the center rather than treating guitar as background texture.
